Corrections Policy
Last updated: February 12, 2026
Our Commitment
Accuracy is fundamental to our journalism. We are committed to correcting factual errors promptly, transparently, and completely. When we make a mistake, we acknowledge it, correct it, and take steps to prevent similar errors in the future.
This policy explains how we handle corrections and how you can report errors you believe you have found in our reporting.
What We Correct
We correct factual errors, including but not limited to:
- Incorrect names, titles, dates, locations, or other factual details
- Misquoted or incorrectly attributed statements
- Inaccurate statistics, data, or numbers
- Errors in context or background information
- Incorrect information about events, policies, or procedures
We do not correct matters of opinion, interpretation, or analysis, though we may update articles to reflect new information or developments.
How Corrections Are Displayed
When we correct an error, we do so transparently:
Correction Notes
All corrections include a note that explains what was corrected and when. Correction notes appear at the end of the article and include:
- The date and time of the correction
- A clear explanation of what was incorrect
- The corrected information
Significant Corrections
For significant errors that affect the main point or conclusion of an article, we add a correction note at the top of the article as well. This ensures readers see the correction immediately.
Updated Timestamps
When we make a correction, we update the article's timestamp to reflect the correction date. The original publication date remains visible, and the correction date is clearly indicated.
How to Report an Error
If you believe you have found an error in our reporting, please contact us:
- Use our contact form and select "Correction Request" or "Editorial Feedback" as the subject
- Include the URL of the article in question
- Clearly describe the error you believe you have found
- Provide any supporting information, sources, or documentation
- Include your contact information so we can follow up if needed
We review all correction requests promptly. If we determine that an error was made, we will correct it and notify you. If we determine that no error was made, we will explain our reasoning.
Our Review Process
When we receive a correction request:
- We review the request and the article in question
- We verify the information using our original sources and any new information provided
- We consult with the reporter and editor who worked on the article
- We make a determination about whether a correction is warranted
- If a correction is needed, we update the article and add a correction note
- We respond to the person who reported the error
We aim to complete this process within 48 hours for straightforward requests. More complex cases may take longer, but we will keep you informed of our progress.
Clarifications and Updates
Sometimes, new information becomes available after publication that adds important context or updates a story. When this happens, we may update the article with new information and add a note explaining the update.
We distinguish between corrections (fixing errors) and updates (adding new information). Both are noted transparently in the article.
Preventing Errors
While we cannot eliminate all errors, we take steps to prevent them:
- Multiple source verification before publication
- Editorial review and fact-checking
- Clear sourcing and attribution standards
- Regular training on accuracy and verification
- Learning from past corrections to improve our processes
